JesusJesus Christ is the Son of God, part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He has always been one with God the Father. Jesus became a human when He was born to the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit. So, He is both fully God and fully human, all in one person. Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins, then He came back to life. After His resurrection, He went up to heaven, where He now prays and advocates for us.

The Holy SpiritWe believe that the Holy Spirit is the third part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit is always present and active, working in the lives of Christians and in the Church. He helps people realize their wrongs (sin), changes their hearts when they repent and believe, helps believers grow in their faith, and leads them to understand the truth about Jesus.

The BibleWe believe the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) was inspired by God. It is inerrant in everything we need to know about God’s will for our salvation.

SinWe believe that sin entered the world through the disobedience of the first humans, Adam and Eve, and brought death with it. There are two types of sin: Original sin and Personal sin. Original sin refers to the sinful nature all humans inherit from Adam. Because of this, people are naturally far from the goodness of the original creation, are disconnected from God, and are inclined to do evil. This remains in people even after they are spiritually reborn, only being fully cleansed through the Holy Spirit. Personal sin is when someone knowingly breaks God’s law. This is different from mistakes or weaknesses people have as a result of the fall, which are not sins in themselves. Actual sin is mainly a failure to love as God commands, and it includes unbelief in Christ.
